One outstanding property of the new TENCEL® fiber is the perfect symbiosis with polyester. The combination of both fibers in fillings allows a range of irresistible properties to blossom. The larger fiber surface promotes the good fiber adhesion of TENCEL® and polyester. This in turn leads to a high stability in the fleece which gives the comforters a first-class washability.
Moisture management for a healthy night’s sleep
The excellent moisture absorption makes TENCEL® ideal for all kinds of bedding items. The secret lies in the fiber’s nanofibrils. These are hydrophilic and a guarantee of optimum temperature regulating properties. Nanofibrils act like microscopic canals which control the absorption and release of moisture. In this way the area where you sleep remains pleasantly dry.
With bed covers, protection from mites and bacteria is particularly important. TENCEL® prevents the growth of micro-organisms automatically and in a completely natural way. The high moisture absorption of TENCEL® means that the growth of bacteria is 2,000 times lower than with synthetic fibers.
When it comes to bed linen, the hand plays an extremely important role. TENCEL® offers unbeatable skin-sensory properties. Studies have revealed that the cool and soft hand is particularly pleasant to the skin and can even reduce skin irritations. The cool hand is a result of the fiber’s smooth surface structure. Compared to TENCEL®, cotton has a much rougher and irregular surface which can cause irritations on sensitive skin.
The combination of all of these properties is what makes TENCEL® a dream come true for all bedding items – whether it be comforters, mattresses, fitted sheets or pillows. Anyone who has spent a night with TENCEL® will be unwilling to sleep without it again.

On the basis of the previous success of
TENCEL® FILL, Lenzing has developed a new filling
fiber with a star-shaped cross-section. As a result of
the improvement in bulkiness and better moisture and
temperature regulation, Lenzing expects this TENCEL®
fiber to make inroads into the filling fiber segment.
